ITL Research methods are public documents available to members of the ITL Research community of researchers and education leaders. Here are two of the key pilot year research methods, the ITL Research Teacher Survey and the ITL Research School Leader Survey. The questions and items in each of these surveys may change after analysis of pilot year data. The questions and items in these surveys provide measures of the following elements of the ITL Logic Model: School Culture and Supports, ICT Access and Support, Educator Attitudes, and Innovative Teaching Practices. Other ITL Research methods will provide direct observation data to compare with the self-reported data collected through these surveys. |

In January 2010, the ITL Research teams from SRI and each pilot country met in Lisbon for a 4 day work session. The meeting focused on the “Learning Activity Student Work” method (LASW), and included discussion of the 21st Century Competencies that this method measures. Participants discussed definitions of the “new” competencies from the different cultural perspectives of the four pilot countries and hte US, and debated the ITL framework for measuring them as they are implemented and practiced in classrooms. For more details on these definitions and methods for measuring 21C Competencies, click on the icons to the left. |
